Is anything changing about my account features?

No – only the name is changing. All the features, benefits, and services you’ve come to expect from your checking account remain exactly the same.

Will I need to get new checks or a new debit card?

No. Your existing checks and debit card will continue to work. There is no need to order new materials unless you’d like to update them voluntarily.

Why is the name changing?

We’re updating the name to CVB™ Checking to better reflect our identity as Capon Valley Bank. It brings our products and brand into closer alignment and makes it easier for customers to recognize the accounts as part of the Capon Valley Bank family.

Will this affect my direct deposit or automatic payments?

Not at all. Your account number and routing number are staying the same, so there’s no impact on how you receive or send payments.

Do I need to sign anything to keep my account open under the new name?

No action is required. The name change is automatic, and there’s no need to sign anything or visit a branch.

Is CVB™ Checking a new product with new terms?

No – this is a rebrand, not a product replacement. Your existing account type, terms, and conditions remain unchanged. You’ll continue to bank as you always have.

What if I have both personal and business accounts under the old Plateau name?

Both personal and business checking accounts are being rebranded. All Personal and Business accounts will become CVB™ Checking. All rebranding will happen simultaneously.

Why was the name “Plateau” originally used?

The name “Plateau” was inspired by the tagline of our parent company, Highlands Bankshares, Inc.: Taking Banking to a Higher Plateau. Highlands Bankshares is the holding company for both Capon Valley Bank and The Grant County Bank.
