Alan Brill, President & CEO of Capon Valley Bank
Alan Brill, President & CEO of Capon Valley Bank, is pictured receiving the 2017 West Virginia Bankers Association Advocate of the Year award. The award was presented to Mr. Brill for having the highest participation in WVBA advocacy campaigns and events. Mr. Brill was presented the award at the annual West Virginia Bankers Association Convention in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Brandon Foster
Brandon Foster, Branch Manager of Capon Valley Bank’s Stephen’s City Office, recently graduated the Top of Virginia Community Leadership Program. The nine month course is designed to provide insight into the opportunities and challenges in Clarke and Frederick County, Virginia. A maximum of 25 participants are selected to discuss and learn about a variety of topics ranging from economic development to community problem solving.
Relay For Life Paint Party
Glenda Smith, Wendy Miller, Crystal Miller, Pam Snapp, Abby Hefner and Amanda Mongold of Capon Valley Bank are shown with their paintings from “CVB Paint Night.” The event was well attended and $50 was raised for the CVB Relay for Life Team.
Trunk or Treat
Debbie Hefner (left) and Melinda Biser of Capon Valley Bank’s Moorefield location are pictured handing out candy during the Trunk or Treat event in Moorefield. Several hundred “trunk or treaters” attended the event which was sponsored by Eastern WV Community & Technical College.
CVB Benefits Fair Table
Melinda Biser and Abby Hefner recently represented Capon Valley Bank at the annual Hardy County Board of Education Benefits Fair located at Moorefield High School. Employees of the Hardy County Board of Education were treated to giveaway items as well as teachers planners. Additionally, employees were able to enter the drawing for the school tote, filled with numerous school supplies, which was won by Debra Greenwalt of Moorefield Intermediate School.
Carol Zuber – Chamber Spotlight
The Hardy County Chamber of Commerce recently featured Carol Zuber, Branch Manager of Capon Valley Bank’s Moorefield Office, in their monthly Service Spotlight. Carol was recognized for being instrumental in organizing and dispatching the earliest trucks filled with supplies to areas in Southern West Virginia decimated by floods in June, 2016. Carol credits her friends and a great community for allowing such a quick response. We thank Carol along with everyone else who helped to contribute to the flood relief in Southern West Virginia.
CVB 2016 School of Banking
Kristopher Kerr (left) and Derek Thorne recently graduated from the West Virginia School of Banking at Charleston, WV. Kris, who is a loan officer at Wardensville, graduated from the Lloyd P. Calvert Graduate School of Banking and Derek, Assistant Branch Manager at Gore, graduated from the West Virginia School of Banking.
Sardana Coyle
Sardana Coyle of East Hardy High School, pictured with Michael McDonald and Joann Byrd, is one of two Hardy County graduates to receive the 2016 CVB Scholarship Award. Sardana maintained a 4.14 GPA and was the valedictorian of her class. She will attend the University of Virginia and is the daughter of George and Tatiana Coyle of Mathias. Savannah Kite graduated from Moorefield High School with a 4.083 GPA and was also the valedictorian of her class. Savannah is the daughter of Hunter and Toni Kite of Moorefield and will attend West Virginia University. Each graduating senior will receive $1,000 their freshmen year to be applied towards tuition or other related expenses. Capon Valley Bank awards this scholarship annually to two graduating seniors from Hardy County who have garnered exemplary achievements in academics, youth leadership, community service and other criteria.

Crystal Miller, a customer service representative at the Capon Valley Bank Baker Office, is shown beside CVB’s new signage display at East Hardy High School in Baker, WV. The signage is a part of the bank’s Partner In Education relationship with East Hardy and it reflects financial products and services available to high school and college students, such as mobile banking, debit cards and links to numerous other resources for financial guidance.
